Fishing authorities in Ireland have moved to ease fears over the presence of the world’s second largest trawler in Irish waters — the same vessel which has been banned by Australia from fishing in its waters.
The Lithuanian-registered super trawler Margiris -- also known as Abel Tasman in Australia -- will be allowed to stay and fish in Irish waters, reported the Irish Examiner last week.
The vessel was previously refused entry to Australian waters but last week sailed up the west coast of Ireland.
