If the strike goes through, it would affect some 1,116 employees at 26 Norwegian fish slaughtering and processing companies.
These would include major players in the salmon industry including Marine Harvest, Leroy and Aker Seafood (see list below).
The strike could cause a huge spike in salmon prices, First Securities analyst Aslak Berge previously told IntraFish.
The Norwegian Food and Allied Workers Union (NNN), which is organizing the movement, said the strike will go ahead on June 5 unless an agreement is reached with the employers' body, the Norwegian Seafood Federation (FHL), on June 4 by midnight.
