Where most Norwegian environmental organizations condemned Oddekalv’s stunt – in which he claimed to have killed trout in at least eight pens belonging to Leroy Seafood Group – Staniford praised his actions “for shining a light on the polluting practices of salmon farming.”
Staniford represents the Global Aquaculture Alliance Against Industrial Aquaculture, a non-governmental organization (NGO) in North America. Oddekalv represents a Norwegian anti-aquaculture NGO called The Green Warriors.
