Giant Spanish retailer El Corte Ingles has launched a month-long sustainability campaign across all food departments and services, which will lead to a stronger emphasis on responsible sourcing for their own seafood products, CSR and Sustainability Manager Delia Garcia Gomez told IntraFish.

"We have created a sustainable sourcing committee, and they are working together with the other departments to create new guidelines and design our definition of a sustainable product," said.

El Corte Ingles created seafood sourcing guidelines in 2011, but the list is due to be updated by the end of the year, Gomez said.
