With demand for seafood in its home market of Spain down, China is an export market Froxa is looking to tap into from an existing base in the world’s second largest economy.
Jose Javier Fernandez, Shanghai-based Asia Pacific director for the Spanish importer and processor, started in China in a sourcing role, but is now also working on sales in the Chinese market.
“We have started trying to sell some containers into wholesale in China, not into the foodservice sector, that is too complicated,” he told IntraFish.
