Spanish fishing company put into administration

Eduardo Vieira, a frozen fishing group based in Vigo, Spain, has gone into administration.

One of the ten largest fishing companies in Galicia, Eduardo Vieira, on Wednesday suspended payments at the request of a creditor, CDC Group.

One Vigo-based source said the company will now be forced to sell assets to recoup these debts.

“They have enough to sell. The company has vessels in Argentina and Senegal catching shrimp and hake in Namibia. It also has a big plant in Namibia,” the source told IntraFish.
