UK retail giant WM Morrison Supermarkets is to take over a plant in Grimsby to use for packing seafood, sources said.

The retailer, which is vertically integrated in meat and vegetables but not in seafood, has been looking at over 10 sites in Grimsby, a source told IntraFish.

One source said Morrisons is thought to be taking over a site formerly owned by Kwok Foods, an Asian foods distributor that went out of business in 2009, with the loss of 180 jobs.
