Sources: Fund in talks to buy Spanish producer

A fund controlled by the owner of Mercadona, Spain’s largest supermarket chain, is in talks to acquire one of Spain’s largest seabass and seabream producers, sources told IntraFish.

According to multiple industry sources, Atitlan Capital, a fund set up by Angels Capital, is currently in negotiations over a possible takeover of Doramenor.

Angels Capital is owned by Juan Roig Alfonso, the Spanish billionaire who also owns 55 percent of Mercadona.

Negotiations are ongoing and a decision could be reached next week, sources said.
