US seafood distributor Slade Gorton is one of the biggest seafood companies in the country, but it was facing a difficult challenge: How to better connect the company to the resource.
"Being in the middle of a supply chain, over time that gets a little bit more difficult," Kim Gorton, president and CEO at Slade Gorton, told IntraFish.
"As we looked at the different resources that we could potentially move closer to, and ways to do that, we realized we wanted to do it in a way that wasn't just one species like salmon or tilapia or shrimp.
