Central Proteinaprima (CP Prima) plans to produce around 60,000 metric tons of shrimp in 2012, which will yield around 36,000 metric tons of finished products.
This is up from the expected 2011 level of around 55,000 metric tons of farmed products and 36,000 metric tons of finished products, Arianto Yohan, general manager of export marketing, told IntraFish.
In 2008, the Indonesian company’s farms were decimated by the infectious myonecrosis virus (IMNV).
The company is taking several measures to ensure this doesn’t happen again, said Yohan.
