Panama’s largest shrimp farmer is looking to produce more medium-to-large sizes instead of focusing on 30/40, its general manager told IntraFish.
Camaronera de Cocle, which is the shrimp farming division of Panamanian agribusiness conglomerate Grupo Calesa, is set “intending to increase production on several sizes instead of concentrating in a single size production,” said Roberto Chamorro, its general manager.
“All Central American countries are concentrated on 40/50 and 30/40 head on,” he told IntraFish. “By applying partial harvest, it is possible to have also 50/60 and 60/70 through the year.”
