Chile’s National Fisheries and Aquaculture Service (Sernapesca) confirmed a new outbreak of infectious salmon anemia (ISA) at a farm belonging to Cooke Aquaculture's subsidiary Salmones Cupquelan in the Aysen region.
The detection of a different variant HPR0 was discovered during surveillance by the company, resulting in sequencing of the HPR 3 variant, Sernapesca said.
"The farming center maintains a strict surveillance by our veterinarians, for being within the zoning established in the Fjord Cupquelan because of previous ISA cases," said José Miguel Burgos, national director of Sernapesca.
