The first round of the Seattle pollock roe auction for the 2016 'A' season ended on March 12, with average bidding prices at JPY 686 (€5.40/$6) per kilo (CIF) -- 10 percent higher compared to the same season a year earlier.

According to data compiled by IntraFish, a total of 4,900 metric tons of roe was offered at the auction, a 45 percent decline from the first round in the 2015 'A' season.
