In response to British Columbia salmon farmers’ call for updates to Seafood Watch’s criteria for farmed salmon ratings, the program’s aquaculture research manager, Peter Bridson, told IntraFish on Thursday the program is working on completing its new ratings for farmed salmon by the end of the year.

“We’ve contacted Marine Harvest, the British Columbia Salmon Farmers Association and the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, and we’re getting data we can use to get an understanding of all the impacts in Canada,” Bridson said.
