The Thailand Seafood Task Force and Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF) are developing sustainable fishing gear and monitoring technology to fight against illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing (IUU).
A working committee is looking into new technologies and innovations to tackle IUU through a collaborative effort between CPF, the Thai Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives.
The first step includes a visit to Brixham, a fishing port in the United Kingdom, to explore sustainable fishing practices and innovations that could be applied to the Thai fishing industry.
