Bellingham, Washington, and Sitka, Alaska-based Seafood Producers Cooperative (SPC) turned 70 years old this year, and the group sees a bright future for growth with the growing global demand for high-quality salmon.

President Tom McLaughlin and Sales Manager Jeff Reynolds told IntraFish the company's founding in 1944 -- first as the Halibut Producers Cooperative -- makes it one of the oldest continuously operating seafood companies in the nation, but the company is still thinking young, and adapting to new market realities.
