Scottish salmon farmers have a right to protect their fish against predators, said Scott Landsburgh, chief executive of Scottish Salmon Producers’ Organisation, in response to a statement from eco groups the Global Alliance Against Industrial Aquaculture (GAAIA) and Save Our Seals Fund (SOSF), who are reportedly calling on the US government to ban imports of farmed salmon and for retailers to stop sourcing from Scottish salmon farms

“We have a moral, ethical and legal responsibility to protect our fish against persistent aggressive predators.
