German poultry giant PHW-Gruppe has teamed with Icelandic fishing firm Samherji to capture a share of the booming chilled fish market in the country.
An official joint venture company was founded in July this year, PHW told IntraFish in a statement.
The firm will operate under the name Windrose GmbH and has its headquarters in Groß-Gerau, where also Samherji subsidiary IceFresh has its registered offices.
Windrose's main business activities will involve the packing and marketing of fresh, chilled fish. It plans to use the "expertise in the processing of fish and fresh logistics of both partners," the group said.
