A Germany-based fishing division of Samherji is not going to supply fish to its Iceland-based sister companies until the situation over alleged breaches of a currency law is resolved, its managing director said.

Deutsche Fischfang Union (DFFU), a 100 percent owned subsidiary of Samherji based in Cuxhaven, Germany, will not sell any fish back to its Icefresh processing operations in Iceland, Haraldur Gretarsson, its managing director, told IntraFish.

Samherji -- which is Iceland's largest fishing group by revenue, with subsidiaries spread across the globe -- is apparently suspected of having sold fish within its own companies across countries at below market prices.
