IntraFish understands customers currently in negotiation with Ewos over feed supplies, are highly unsettled over the unclear ownership situation, following Marine Harvest's bid to acquire Cermaq.
The situation intensified after Monday's bid by Altor and Bain Capital, which offered NOK 6.2 billion (€813.3 million/$1.1 billion) to buy Cermaq's feed operation.
IntraFish found customers currently in negotiations with the company, both major and medium-scale farms, are hesitating to close on contracts for fear of ending up being customers of the biggest salmon producer and competitor, Marine Harvest.
