Few exporters were willing to speak with IntraFish Friday, usually a sign prices are expected to go down.
Based on conversations with four exporters, it seems the price is set to fall around NOK 4 (€0.5/$0.65) per kilo – a large drop were it not for the fact prices were very high.
“A fall of NOK 4 (€0.5/$0.65) sounds dramatic, but remember that we’re talking about a drop from exceptionally high prices,” one exporter said.
”Last Friday (Aug.13) many buyers on the continent had a shock, with rumors saying that some of the largest salmon were selling for around NOK 50 (€6.3/$8.1)
