Salmon price: slightly up for larger fish

Prices for the larger salmon could slightly increase, to around NOK 40 (€5/$6.5) per kilo, while prices for smaller fishes are likely to be down.

Here are the forecasts for next week’s salmon prices (August 2 – August 8), based on what the exporters told IntraFish:

• 1-2 kilos: NOK 24 (€3/$3.9) - NOK 24.50 (€3.1/$4)
• 2-3 kilos: NOK 27 (€3.4/$4.4)
• 3-4 kilos: NOK 34 (€4.3/$5.6)- NOK 35 (€4.4/$5.7)
• 4-5 kilos: NOK 38 (€4.8/$6.2)- NOK 40 (€5/$6.5)
• 5-6 kilos: NOK 40 (€5/$6.5)- NOK 42 (€5.3/$6.9)

According to one exporter, sales of the smallest fish have been somewhat slow, “there is some pressure on the small fish,” he told IntraFish.
