Unlike other salmon farming companies, Inevertec has had a tough time refinancing its bank debt.

According to stories in Chile’s financial newspaper El Diario Financiero, Invertec’s operations with its salmon feed affiliate Salmofood have complicated the refinancing plans.

Salmofood, owned by Invertec and salmon farmer Pesquera Yadran, has a debt of around $50 million (€34 million) with the Santander, Itau, BBVA, BCI and Internacional banks, among others.

As part of the agreement under negotiation, Invertec will pay off the debt of its affiliate, “taking charge of its debt with the creditor banks.”
