Salmon an exception to the rule

Guus Pastor is head of the AIPCE (European Fish Processors Association)association for the seafood processing and member associations in the Netherlands (Visfederatie).

In his keynote address at the North Atlantic Seafood Forum conference in Bergen, Pastor said the norm with higher prices is for sales to drop, but not so with Norwegian salmon.

"It would be reasonable to assume that higher prices would cause sales to drop, but no," he told IntraFish.

"Norwegian salmon is now an exception to the rule. Salmon surpasses all other types of seafood.
