Neither Vats Group, which controls Leroy Seafood Group, nor SalMar ssay they are interested in acquiring Norwegian salmon producer Cermaq, reported the newspaper Dagens Næringsliv (DN).
It is unlikely the two companies could match a Marine Harvest bid, it said.
Bjorn Ivar Flatgard, chairman at SalMar, refuted speculation the company would make a bid for Cermaq.
"We have been following the process very closely from the outside, and I can in no way confirm that we are interested in purchasing Cermaq," he said.
