Russia’s overall seafood exports increased 4.2 percent through April compared with the same period of 2018 to reach 847,000 metric tons, according to the country’s federal statistics service, Rosstat. The value of these exports jumped 16.3 percent to $1.68 billion (€1.49 billion).

Frozen unprocessed fish exports rose 4.2 percent to 757,000 metric tons, accounting for 89.4 percent of total exports.

Fish fillets and other fish meat exports grew 7.3 percent to reach 52,600 metric tons, making up 6.2 percent of the total.
