According to preliminary data by Russia’s federal statistics service, the volume of fish production between January and October 2015 jumped 5.6 percent compared with the same period last year, to 3.23 million metric tons.
Production of frozen fish, with exception for herring, rose 10.3 percent to 2.19 million metric tons. Liver, roe and milt production climbed 6.7 percent to 52,200 metric tons.
The output of frozen herring slightly increased by 0.8 percent to 227,500 metric tons, while fish fillet production climbed 14 percent to 104,700 metric tons.
