Petr Savchuk was removed from his position as CEO of Nakhodka-based Nakhodka Active Marine Fishery Base Public Joint Stock Company (NBAMR) on Friday, a source told IntraFish.
According to sources in Russia and Europe, Savchuk was unaware of the decision until as late as Aug. 26 -- last Friday -- and is now in hospital after suffering a suspected heart attack.
NBAMR declined to give a reason for his removal.
The source said Savchuk’s removal could impact the Russian pollock MSC drive, as he has been a key player in the negotiations between the MSC and the Russian industry.
