The III Global Fishery Forum and International Exhibition of Fish Industry, Seafood and Technology, also known Seafood Expo Russia, is underway in St. Petersburg.

Russia's largest fisheries event brings together more than 300 companies from 30 regions of Russia and 25 countries – 34 percent more than in 2018, with more than 20 foreign delegations visiting the event.

Besides Russia, there are national expositions from Norway, Iceland, Denmark, Morocco, Turkey, China and Spain.

During the opening ceremony speech, Dmitry Patrushev, minister of agriculture of Russia, announced an ambitious plan for the country to become a world leader in more than catching fish.
