Arkhangelsk Trawl Fleet (ATF) -- one of Russia's largest harvesting groups -- signed a shipbuilding agreement with the Vyborg Shipyard March 17 to build four 80-meter bottom trawlers, following an agreement signed by the two parties in January.
The new vessels, based on a design from Norwegian group Skipsteknisk, are designed to fish cod, haddock and halibut, producing both headed and gutted (H&G) and frozen-at sea fillet products.
ATF CEO Alexei Zaplatin told IntraFish in an earlier interview vessels must be commissioned by the end of 2018, but the actual construction of the vessels will not begin until new Russian rules allocating additional quotas for the new vessels is finalized.
