Russia's overall volumes of fish production increased 2.5 percent in 2015 compared to the previous year, reaching 3.8 million metric tons, but imports took a steep dive over the course of the year, falling by 37.5 percent to 554,500 metric tons, according to preliminary data provided by Russia’s Statistic Service Rosstat.
The main production growth came from the frozen fish fillet segment, which leaped 12.4 percent to 120,900 metric tons.
