Ilya Bereznuk, spokesperson for Russian Aquaculture, said his company is "outraged" over salmon dumping allegations made in Russia's mainstream media -- even though he admits there have been issues with diseases over the course of the summer.
After tons of rotten salmon were found dumped at a site in Molochny outside Murmansk, the company was named as the primary suspect.
In reaction to the allegations, Bereznuk told IntraFish officials are still trying to figure out how the fish appeared at the "unauthorized landfill," and that a culprit yet has to be identified.
"For this very reason, the company refrained from official statements," he said.
Russian Aquaculture inked a number of agreements to dispose of its biological waste with "several contractors" in the Murmansk region.
