Russia’s fishery agency Rosrybolovstvo announced it will increase the total allowable catches (TAC) for Baltic herring by 11.9 percent to 27,600 metric tons and for sprats by 33.2 percent to 39,200 metric tons.
The agency plans to fill up shore processing plants and increase processing of domestically caught fish products to make up for some of the shortages the country's processors faced in the wake of the import ban.
