Russia’s overall pollock harvest in the Far East Fishing Basin reached 1.07 million metric tons through May, up 4.6 percent from the last year, according to the Russia Pollock Catchers Association (PCA).

The pace puts the overall harvest projection at around 1.7 million metric tons for the year, PCA said.

The Sea of Okhotsk provided the bulk of the total pollock catch of 847,000 metric tons through May, which is 2 percent higher than in the same period of last year.
