Duties on fresh Norwegian salmon and trout imports to Russia is currently 10 percent and will be reduced to 3 percent in the next five years because of the Soviet country's new membership in the World Trade Organization (WTO), said Astrid Holtan, deputy director general of the Norwegian Ministry of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs, who works closely with matters pertaining to the WTO.
The first de-escalation will occur within the next 13 months. The last de-escalation is expected on or before the close of 2017.
