Fishing and processing giant Royal Greenland -- which has a processing plant and sales force in Koszalin, Poland – has had recent success with a frozen sushi product, Slawomir Huk, country manager, told IntraFish.
“Sushi is becoming very popular in Poland. You see sushi restaurants springing up all the time,” he said, during the Polfish trade fair in Gdynia.
The company recently launched a frozen sushi product into Biedronka, Poland’s largest retailer, and sales were strong.
This product sold 50,000 pieces in a week, when Biedronka had expected it to take two weeks to sell this volume.
