Does anybody really want to be the client for the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certification of Alaska salmon? Apparently so.
The Purse Seine Vessels Owners Association (PSVOA) has stepped aside as the client for Alaska salmon's Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certification, according to Paul Knapman, general manager at Intertek Fisheries Certification, which is responsible for the certification of the fishery, and a new non-profit corporation -- the Alaska Salmon Processors Association -- has stepped in, according to an announcement released by certification group Intertek last week.
