Norwegian krill company Rimfrost has won its dispute with Aker BioMarine over krill patents in the United States.

The United States Patent and Trademark Office declared Aker Biomarine’s claim to the patents are invalid, and should the company not appeal the decision, the patents will be withdrawn.

“This is a happy news,” said Rimfrost Owner Stig Remoy. “No legal processes in the US have gone Aker’s way regarding patents, which means the uncertainty Aker BioMarine has been trying to create around Rimfrost's products and delivery capacity has now been emphatically reversed."
