Solberg made her comments last week at the North Atlantic Seafood Forum conference n Lillestrom, Norway.
The reason is the regulating regime, she said, as the ceiling is almost reached in regard to how much can be produced per production license (MPB). Signals from politicians indicate the government will not be handing out new production licenses this year.
“It can end up with zero growth,” Solberg said, unless the authorities extend the MTB or advertise more new licenses in time.
Releases of smolt have already stagnated.
