Rudy Lamprecht, CEO and founder of tilapia producer Regal Springs, is clearly fed up with the certification debate, and showed it during a question-and-answer panel following the North Atlantic Seafood Forum (NASF) retail seminar on Wednesday.

“I’m one of those many first victims of certification,” he said, telling Marks & Spencer buyer Hannah Macintyre that he believes retailers are hiding behind eco-labels to not take heat from NGOs.

Macintyre was probably the wrong person to ask, since M&S is nearly 100 percent private label, and rarely displays any kind of certification logos on their products, but she agreed.

“I
