Norway's opposition party's deputy leader – and former fisheries minister -- Helga Pedersen said in an interview with IntraFish the new Trade, Industry and Fisheries Ministry appears to become more and more of a branch office for Marine Harvest.

The Conservative-run ministry is keen to remove regulation the former government introduced last year, which sets increasingly requirements of the companies as they expand.

These criteria concern increased value-added processing in Norway, more R&D and stepping up intake of trainees.
