Sales of pollock continued to slide at UK retail, with both volume and value falling nearly 20 percent year-on-year in the 52 weeks to Oct. 10, according the latest figures from market research company Nielsen.
The total value of sales in the major supermarkets fell 19.4 percent to £114.6 million (€162.2 million/$172.7 million) compared with £142.2 million (€201.3 million/$214.3 million) in the same period a year earlier. Volumes also fell, by 17.3 percent from 29,663 metric tons to 24,542 metric tons.
