Sales of pangasius in the United Kingdom jumped by more than 25 percent in the 12 months to Dec. 5 compared with the year before, making it now the 13th-most consumed seafood species in the country.

While other whitefish species -- haddock  and pollock in particular -- saw sales decline over the period, pangasius had better fortunes, according to the most up-to-date figures from market research firm Nielsen.
