Spanish fishing company Krustagroup, a subsidiary to fishing giant Amasua operating in Argentina, is consolidating in different markets with its own product and production of third-party raw material.

The group went through a number of changes in 2017 that are having an immediate impact in its operations.

Krustagroup CEO Pabo Mugica told IntraFish the group is expanding to Asia after having signed important deals in South America and Europe.

What were the most significant developments for your business in the seafood industry in 2017?

Aside from the Dalian Huafeng operation -- which was neutral for Krustagroup due to the existing commercial agreements, these have been the main achievements of the year:

The agreements signed with Camanchaca in the United States and the south of Europe -Spain, Italy and Portugal: In the United States we created a joint venture for the distribution of Argentinean red shrimp under the co-brand Pier33 by Grandkrust.
