IntraFish: What were the three most significant developments for your business in the seafood industry in 2014?

1) The raw material supply situation in 2014 is better than 2013 due to improved catches from the sea and gradual resumption of prawn/shrimp supply to the market.
2) Price competition remains keen due to intense rivalry not just among the Chinese seafood processors but also those from other low cost region (e.g.: Thailand, Vietnam, India etc). Coupled with rising labor costs in China and the tepid global economy, profit margins of seafood processors are subject to pressure.
