Direct Seafoods, a division of UK foodservice supplier Seafood Holdings, sees the Olympics as a boost for its business on balance, despite the fact that it might hit corporate contract catering.

The company has a contract to supply 160 metric tons of seafood to the workers and athletes in the Olympic village, representing 1.2 million servings.

Athletes especially requested tilapia because of its high protein content compared to other seafood sources, said Paul Gower, sales director with the company. "One 120-gram serving makes up more than 50 percent of an adult daily requirement."
