In documents obtained by IntraFish, Ocean Trawlers Europe Ltd., a U.K. subsidiary of Hong Kong-based Ocean Trawlers, alleged Alistair Ramus, a former sales manager with Ocean Trawlers, Bruce Richardson, and a trading firm named Ocean Hawk Ltd. conspired to defraud Ocean Trawlers by deceptively obtaining product from the firm and selling it on to U.K. buyers.
In a letter sent in early December by Ocean Trawlers' attorneys, Field Fisher Waterhouse, to one recipient of the product in question, Ocean Trawlers alleged the scam resulted in the "unlawful release" of "substantial volumes," but did not quantify the amount or its value.
