Diversification of species and markets is key, according to Martin Sullivan, CEO of Canada’s Ocean Choice International (OCI). The company is shifting focus on its wild species and entering the farmed salmon game with its partnership with Grieg in Newfoundland.

As one of Canada’s largest wild fish quota holders, Ocean Choice International (OCI) harvests and processes more than 150 million pounds of raw material with five vessels and markets to more than 30 international markets each year.

The company works with lobster, snow crab, coldwater shrimp, sea scallops, whelk, various groundfish species and pelagics.
