US seafood giant Ocean Beauty recently threw a new branded product into the fray on signs the US mussel market is yet untapped.

Based on market data indicating a high level of opportunity for mussel sales in the United States, the company launched its new St. Andrews  brand of mussels at the Boston Seafood Show in March.

The product is Ocean Beauty's first foray into Chilean mussels and is sold in several forms: whole shell, half shell, mussel meat, breaded mussels and mussels with sauce.

Ocean Beauty has taken out multiple ads to market the launch, and sales are “promising” so far, Ocean Beauty Vice President of Marketing Tom Sunderland told IntraFish.

”I
