The Bristol Bay Economic Development Corporation (BBEDC), the Alaska community development quota (CDQ) group that owns 50 percent of Seattle processing giant Ocean Beauty Seafoods, named Norman Van Vactor its CEO, sources told IntraFish.

Van Vactor has a long history in the Alaska salmon industry, with roles at several companies including Peter Pan Seafoods, Leader Creek Fisheries and Snopac.

Van Vactor replaces outgoing CEO Robin Samuelsen. Samuelsen will take on the role of president at the company, and remains chairman of Ocean Beauty.
